What They Needed

As a top-five global brand, Facebook employs over thirty thousand people across various teams. The Facilities, Culinary, and Security team (FCS) is one of the largest, yet their work often goes overlooked when things are running smoothly. With an ever-growing team, a need arose for a set of core values specific to the FCS team to motivate and encourage unity. 

What We Did 

We conducted detailed interviews with key stakeholders and surveyed others. We discovered that team members often felt siloed from both their peers and other Facebook employees. The core values we created focused on highlighting the importance of their work to the success of the overall Facebook mission and encouraged inter-team collaboration. 

The Outcome

The values were unique to the FCS team, but most importantly, they were grounded in the overall values of the company. While “Move Fast” is a core value at Facebook, we found that the FCS team must “Stay Ahead”, often anticipating the future needs of their peers.
